Architectural Model Winning Entries on Display@EdUHK

 

To promote STEAM education in secondary schools and universities in Hong Kong, Department of Mathematics and Information Technology at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) organised the “STEAM Education: 3D Chinese Cultural Architectural Design Competition” with the generous support of the Tin Ka Ping Foundation.

The winning entries are on display at the ground floor of the EdUHK Mong Man Wai Library, from now until 10 December and from 17 December 2018 to 21 January 2019, and at 2/F, Domain Mall, Yau Tong from 11 to 16 December 2018. Visitors are able to see the ingenuity of the contestants who integrated 3D printing technology with art, design and modelling techniques to create architectural models with Chinese cultural significance.

The QR code accompanying each entry redirects to a website that contains a short video which explains the ideas behind its design and production. More information is also available on the competition website at http://www.eduhk.hk/3d-arch.

STEAM education is an interdisciplinary approach to learning that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics to nurture students’ creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills for their lifelong learning and whole-person development.
