Professor Chiu Chi-shing is affiliated with the Department of Education Policy and Leadership at The Education University of Hong Kong. He is currently the Associate Director of The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change, and Co-Director of Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching. Formerly, Professor Chiu was Professional Consultant for the Faculty of Education and Project Director of the Quality School Improvement Project at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where he worked for over 16 years. He obtained his doctorate from the University of Durham.

Professor Chiu started his career as a secondary school teacher and entered the tertiary education sector as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer at the Sir Robert Black College of Education and HKIEd during the period from 1984 to 1995.

In his service with CUHK, Professor Chiu was renowned for his success in securing external funding, both from the government and private sources, for a large number of large-scale university–school partnership projects. He has been widely lauded by schools throughout Hong Kong for making a genuine and ongoing contribution to successful change.
