Quality of Graduates Testified by Positive Perception and High Employment

Positive Perception

The survey findings are based on 675 valid returned questionnaires, representing a response rate of 39.2%, which included the principals of 260 primary schools and 415 kindergartens. The survey covered eight teacher education providers in Hong Kong, with five for the primary and four for the early childhood sectors (*Note 2). What emerged from the findings reaffirmed the quality of HKIEd graduates, with the most encouraging results relating to principals¡¦perceptions in the areas of "preference", "Satisfaction", "professionalism" and "work attitudes".

Preference — HKIEd graduates most preferred

In the primary school sector, 40.7% (106 principals) expressed clear preferences for graduates of specific teacher education providers. Among them, HKIEd graduates were most preferred (40%) while those from the other four institutions obtained preference rates ranging from 3% to 31%.
