Preamble
In the ten years or so since being established in 1994, the Institute has successfully transformed itself from a post-secondary college offering mainly sub-degrees, to a university-level institution with self-accrediting status. In our aim to better serve the community, the Institute has identified strategic areas for further development. In drawing up our plans, we consulted our staff, students, alumni and other major stakeholders to hear their views on how the Institute could meet the challenges ahead and address the needs and expectations of the community in the ever-changing environment of Hong Kong.

Our mission is to produce quality educators with a professional commitment to the young people of Hong Kong and to enhance our scholarship as we seek to support educational innovation and school improvement. In this article, the gist of the Strategic Plan is summarised for our readers.
