The education profession is similar to an
ocean-liner in motion, requiring a co-operative spirit among the crew
members if it is to sail through the rough sea. In the collaboration between
the Institute and the local school community, we can compare the partnership
model to members playing different roles in steering the ocean-liner ahead.
The "Partnership for Small Class Teaching Development Scheme",
being one of the initiatives under the "Small Class Teaching Research
and Development Project", is an example of just such a collaborative
effort. The collaboration aims to bring about a new horizon in education
among participating members, through experience sharing and the study
of real-life situations in regard to small class teaching.
Eight schools participated in the Scheme as partners, including Sam
Shui Natives Association School, North Point Government Primary AM School,
Sir Robert Black College of Education Past Students' Association Ho
Sau Ki School, Sung Tak School, P.O.H. Chan Kwok Wai Primary School,
San Wui Commercial Society School, S.K.H. Yat Sau Primary School and
Holy Family School. For its fifth exchange activity, participating members
of the Scheme met at Sung Tak School in Tai Po to conduct an observation
class, which was followed by a discussion session on "Co-operative
Learning". |
