Interface
is a specialist conference in the use of Information Technology (IT)
in English Language Teaching (ELT). The
British Council has hosted the conference annually since 1998.
During the previous 3 events the conference has grown from a one-day
seminar of 450 participants to a two-day conference with close to
1000 participants. The conference will be hosted for the first time
by the Department
of English at the Hong
Kong Institute of Education. Interface 2001 will capture the possible
transformations in language, learning and teaching that arise from
the multi-faceted interactions between children, teachers and Information
Technology. It also provides a premier staff development opportunity
for teachers,
school
principals and other educators to explore the integration of Information
Technology and English Language Teaching.
