The International Language in Education Conference (ILEC) takes place annually in Hong Kong.
ILEC brings together researchers, curriculum developers, teachers and teacher educators and others involved in the teaching of English and Chinese and other languages and/or in the use of these languages for teaching and learning purposes. ILEC aims to bridge theory and practice and provide an opportunity for participants to discuss language issues in the full range of educational contexts: kindergarten, primary, secondary, tertiary, vocational and adult education as well as language teacher education.

Opportunities are provided for papers, workshops, colloquia, practical and poster sessions relevant to the aims and scope of ILEC.
Presentations may be in English, Cantonese or Putonghua and written papers in English or Chinese. Selected Conference papers are published annually.
