Dr. Wing-Wah Law is associate professor and the Director of the Doctor of Education Program in the Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong (HKU).  He was a Deputy Head of the Department of Education (1999 - 2001) at HKU. His research interests include education and development; globalization and education reforms; higher education; citizenship education; values education and curriculum; and education in Chinese societies including Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Dr. Kanya Mahitivanicha NGAI

Dr. Kanya Mahitivanicha Ngai is an Associate Professor in Research Methodology in the Department of Education at the University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining The University of Hong Kong in November of 2007, she worked as a socio-behavioral research scientist at the San Francisco-Bay Area office of the American Institutes for Research that is headquartered in Washington, DC. She has a background in economics, human development, and education policy and planning. Kanya has been a researcher and consultant in the education sector since 1998.

Kanya received her B.A. (honors) in economics and Master of Education (in administration, planning and social policy) from Harvard University. She received her Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin and interned at Stanford University while living in the San Francisco-Bay Area. Kanya has been the chief analyst on multiple research projects sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, ranging from fiscal studies examining the impact of funding formula on special education practices to evaluation studies examining school districts' investment in professional development, as well as studies examining the cost of providing high quality preschool programs. She has presented at multiple international research conferences and published in multiple journals including the Educational Administration Quarterly, the Journal of Education Finance, and the American Educational Research Journal.

Currently a resident of Hong Kong, Kanya is involved in the personal growth and development of local youth/young adults through the network of local Christian workers. One of her many keen interests is to see young leaders developed who will walk with integrity and bring sound ethics into the marketplace, and through such a lifestyle, influence their society in the generations to come. Kanya is a permanent resident of the United States and Thailand, and has resided in Singapore and Canada. She speaks English, Mandarin and Thai.

Her current line of exploratory research focuses on innovational tri-capital redevelopment (i.e., human capital, social capital and moral capital) in the context of the entrepreneurial market in Asia.

Dr. Chi-kim CHEUNG

Dr. C.K. Cheung is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Education, University of Hong Kong. His research interests include entrepreneurship education, media education, and civic education. He has published more than 30 externally refereed articles and book chapters. He has been successful in getting both internal and external research grants. In 2006, he was awarded the most competitive research grant (CERG) to look at the implementation of media education in Hong Kong's secondary curriculum. He has been frequently invited overseas to give speeches and paper presentations in the field of media education. He was just invited to Spain by the United Nations attending the Alliance of Civilization in January 2008.

He is a member of the editorial board in Education Business and Society: Contemporary Middle East, the Open Education Journal, and the International Journal of Scientific Research in Education. He is also an external subject examiner for the Hong Kong Institute of Education and a panel member of the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications. He also serves as a court member to the Hong Kong Baptist University. He is also the founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Media Education. He has also a long list of community service, involved mainly in the area of education. He is the supervisor as well as the member of the school boards in many primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong.
