This is an academic symposium which reports critical review or new research findings on recent advances in energy technology and their impact on the environment. The subthemes include rare earths, transitions metals, synchrotron raidation and vacuum ultraviolet.

Apart from keynote speeches and invited speeches, this symposium also calls for poster presentations. For symposium registration, interested participants should send an email of personal particulars (and an abstract of around 300-500 words for poster presentation, if any) to the conference secretary by 28 Nov., 2013. No registration fee is required. Acceptance of poster presentation will be issued to the participants after the peer-reviewing process.
