The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) on behalf of the International Organizing
Committee (IOC) and the APES Council extends a cordial invitation to participate
in the third Asia-Pacific EPR/ESR Symposium (APES'01), which will take
place at Kobe University (Kobe Japan) from October 29 (Monday) to November
1 (Thursday), 2001. The Symposium, although aimed primarily at the Asia-Pacific
countries, will be open to participants from all over the world.
Scope of the Symposium
The aim of the APES'01 is to cover all subareas of EPR/ESR. Contributions
dealing with any aspects of recent developments and applications in the
"Theory", "Applications", "Methodology", "Instrumentation" and "Experimental
Techniques" are invited. The focus will be on recent applications of EPR/ESR
spectroscopy, including the conventional EPR/ESR, pulsed EPR, high frequency
and high field EPR, ENDOR, time resolved EPR, FMR, MRI, CIDEP and ODMR.
Four parallel topical sessions are planned.
(1) Biology, Life and Medical Sciences.
(2) Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences.
(3) Physics and Material Sciences,
(4) New Development and Cross-disciplinary areas.
Language
The official language of the Symposium will be English. No facilities for
translation will be available.
Invited Lectures
Nominations are invited for up to 10 invited speakers, who will deliver
the plenary lectures on the current most important topics. Self-nominations
are also welcome. Please provide us with a short abstract of the lecture
and a brief CV of the potential speaker. Nominations should be made to
the Chairperson of the LOC before the end of July 2000.
Satellite Meetings and Post Symposium Tours
Satellite meeting(s) may be arranged in the period October 26-27, or November
2-3 at Sengari Seminar House of Kwansei Gakuin University depending on
the participants' proposals and demand. Post Symposium tours to Hiroshima
and Miyazima, Kyoto, Nara etc. may be arranged.
Place & Accommodations
Kobe University is located in Rokko Mountain area of Kobe city and close
to the seashore of Osaka bay. The Symposium will be held at the International
Conference Center now under construction, which will be completed by the
end of 2000. Limousine bus service, JR and private rail lines are available
from Osaka Kwansai airport to Kobe. It takes about 90 min to reach the
conference site. Accommodation will be arranged at several hotels close
to the Kobe University campus.
