I am the Principal Investigator of a number of research projects, such as “Engaging Everyday Modernity: Hong Kong Poetry in the 1970s”, “The Generic Features of Wuxia Film and the Problem of Transculturation”, “Studies in Popular Film Genres: Of Hitmen and Undercover Agents”, “The Tourist, the Flaneur, and Self‐Reflexivity in Travel Literature: A Theoretical Enquiry”, and “Reproduction, Aesthetic of Horror, and Cross‐cultural Generic Exchange in the Ring Cycle”.
My publications appeared in such scholarly journals as Texas Studies in Literature and Language, Comparative Literature and Culture, Studies in Literary History, Tamkang Review, Concentric: Literary and Cultural Studies, Modern Chinese Literature, Journal of Chinese Literature of National Cheng Kung University, Chung Wai Literary Quarterly, Review of English and American Literature, and Advances in Communication and Mass Media Research.
I received my PhD in Comparative Literature from the Chinese University of Hog Kong. My research interests include romantic poetry, gothic fiction, modern Chinese literature, and popular film genres. I have supervised research postgraduate students who worked on British romantic poetry, Western-Chinese comparative literature, Hong Kong literature, and Asian cinema.
