Advanced Research Methods

Participants will learn advanced research design especially on quantitative and research methods and the application on speech, language, hearing, literacy, communication and swallowing disorders. The content will cover the following topics: effect size, power, confidence intervals; statistical inferences concerning bivariate correlation coefficients; inferences concerning one or two means; tests on three or more means using a one-way ANOVA, post hoc and planned comparisons; two-way analysis of variance; analyses of variance with repeated measures and the analysis of covariance; bivariate and multiple regression; reliability test and factor analysis; path analysis; growth curves; nonparametric tests; and structural equation modeling. They will learn how to report, evaluate and disseminate research results. Participants will learn how to implement and critically evaluate evidence-based practice.
