PSY6010 Learning Theories & Processes

This course aims to introduce students to the major, cutting-edge learning theories and processes that have been in prominent places in the field of psychology. In this course, students will first learn about the basic learning theories and principles from the behavioral perspective that are still relevant in real-life educational/parenting/workplace settings, as well as the other modes and theories of learning (coupled with appropriate environmental settings) from the cognitive, socio-emotional, constructivist, problem-solving, and self-regulatory perspectives. Implications and applications of these various types of learning theories will be discussed with emphases on their differential effectiveness in solving different educational, parenting, and workplace problems.
