Dr Percy Kwok participated in the 2022 Annual Conference of the Asian Qualitative Inquiry Association

Dr Percy Kwok led a group of young scholars (master and doctoral students studying at The Education University of Hong Kong and The University of Hong Kong) to have a roundtable panel discussion on the postmodern notion of ‘transboundary learning cultures' connecting daytime schooling and shadow education, based on cases studies in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and other regions of China at the first International Conference of the Asian Qualitative Inquiry Association (AQIA) on 27-29 October 2022, hosted by Pusan National University in South Korea. Research findings are significantly related to policy governance towards shadow education in China and Asian contexts and theoretical input of new research paradigms and agendas in shadow education research in international contexts. Dr Kwok also chaired the book talk on English private tutoring (EPT): theories, practices, and politics. The authors of the newly published book are Dr Kevin Yung (Associate Professor at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, The Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong) and Dr Anas Hajar (Associate Professor, Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan).
