Dr Jesus Alfonso Datu Wins Two International Academic Awards
Dr DATU, Jesus Alfonso Daep | Assistant Professor, Department of Special Education and Counselling
Dr Jesus Alfonso D. Datu, Assistant Professor at the Department of Special Education and Counselling (SEC) of The Education University of Hong Kong, has been awarded the 2020 Emerging Scholar and Diversity Award and the Outstanding Reviewer Award.
Created by the Association for Research in Personality, the 2020 Emerging Scholar and Diversity Award is a special award adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic, which combines the Emerging Scholar Award to biennially recognise exceptionally high-quality work from emerging personality psychologists, and the Diversity Award to support the professional development of early career researchers or researchers from historically marginalised communities.
Dr Datu also received the first-ever Outstanding Reviewer Award, conferred by the School Psychology International Journal, for his exemplary contributions in the field of school psychology. This award is given to only one reviewer each year.
“As an early career researcher, I feel honoured to have received these international recognitions,” said Dr Datu. “This demonstrates the impact of my scholarly and professional service contributions to the field of personality and school psychology. I am grateful for the continuous support from the University, the Faculty of Education and Human Development, the SEC leadership team and collaborators.”
