Unleashing the imagination and expression in arts through an ECE Creative Art Workshop

2021-02-10

The Department of Early Childhood Education (ECE) organised an online three-day Creative Art Workshop to its students (December 21 to 23, 2020) with the aims of cultivating their creativities in arts and providing them with suggestions to formulate art activities at school for children. More than 20 participants registered for the workshop.

The workshop arranged a virtual visit at IM Creative. The company illustrated its mission and vision, for instance, by devoting efforts in arts education promotion in the community. In addition, there were a wide range of hands-on activities, including creating art with loose parts, colour mixing and designing an art project with plastic bottles, which sharpened the participants’ skills and knowledge in arts. In particular, the basic background and application of art therapy were introduced. The virtual visit enriched the participants’ understandings in arts and enhanced their creativities in the planning of art activities.

The following are some reflections of the students after participating in the workshop:

Students’ Perspectives

Wong, Ming Yan Daisy  HD (ECE) FT Yr 2

Lam, Wing Sze  PGDE(ECE) PT Yr 2

課程中過程所獲得美學點子,有助我去換個思考角度,用另一個方法去檢視平常生活中的細節和物件的關聯,引發很多點子及可運用在教學課程中。
