Exposure to music, starting from early childhood

2020-08-25

Music plays a very important role in child development. Researches showed that exposure to music from early childhood onwards helps children to speak more clearly, develop a larger vocabulary, and strengthen social and emotional skills. In view of this, the Department of Early Childhood Education organized a series of music enhancement workshops for all ECE students in June.

In these workshops, students learned how to utilize the different music education approaches to organize music activities and enrich their teaching skills. As reflected by the participants, these workshops are funny and practical for ECE teachers. They also look forward to join again in the future as they believed that these workshops enhanced their motivation and confidence in using music to teach. The Department of Early Childhood Education is delighted with the positive feedbacks from students and considering to organize similar event in every academic year.
