Guided by the “Education-plus” vision, our academic scope is built on (but is not limited to) the traditional strength of teacher education; and consolidated through diverse programme offerings in the Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as Creative Arts and Culture. With a multidisciplinary learning environment, students of teacher education and complementary programmes can take second majors, minors, or electives, and interact with each other across disciplines.
99% of our academic and teaching staff hold doctoral degrees and are leading experts in their respective fields. Their academic and teaching achievements have contributed to the University’s well-established niche in Education and newly emerging strengths in multidisciplinary subject areas while continuously shaping policy discourse locally and in the region. With their research impacts in and connections with the real world, students will definitely find their learning experience rich, inspiring and relevant.
EdUHK has over the years developed an extensive network of over 200 partnerships and collaborative relationships with government agencies, non-governmental organisations and universities across the globe. This includes exchange and language immersion programmes, internships, service learning, overseas consultancy projects, and research and knowledge transfer projects. Those partnerships and collaborations entail a wealth of opportunities for our students to gain cross-cultural exposure and understanding throughout their studies at the University.
A range of scholarships are offered to both local and non-local students enrolling in our undergraduate programmes on the basis of academic merit, personal attributes, extra-curricular activities and community service. The EdUHK Entrance Scholarship Scheme includes full scholarships, full tuition scholarships, and half tuition scholarships.
We create a cosy atmosphere in which invigorating intellectual exchanges among members of the University can take place, both inside and outside the classroom. The more intimate university community also allows our local and non-local students to be better supported and integrated by a whole range of provisions and services such as faculty-based orientations, buddy programme, academic advising, mentorship, classroom-to-career support, community engagement and cultural exploration activities, etc.
