High quality tests help teachers to not only evaluate the outcome of students’ learning, but also to identify areas for improvement in teaching and learning. More importantly, a good test helps teachers to realize the alignment between teaching with assessment. This course aims to equip students with the practical skills associated with test design and test analysis. More specifically, students will develop their critical understanding of assessment concepts, comprehend the holistic process of test design, practice the design of different types of test item, and grasp relevant statistical techniques to analyze test quality so as to improve test design.
