This course is the first of five practicums in the professional training sequence, providing students with their initial hands-on experience in the field of educational psychology. It introduces students to professional practices through structured mentorship and collaborative group projects, guided by educational psychologists in the field. The placement aims to broaden students’ exposure to the diverse roles and responsibilities of educational psychologists within specific practice settings. Students will gain exposure to a broad spectrum of work and engage in practical tasks across multiple service levels, including, but not limited to, individual casework, group interventions, consultations with parents and teachers, and professional development for teachers. This course is taken concurrently with Practicum II and serves as a prerequisite for Practicum IV and V. |
