Module Code 單元編號 GEM2037 Module Title 單元名稱 STORY READING IN CHINESE TO NON-CHINESE-SPEAKING CHILDREN 非華語兒童故事聽講聽讀 Module Synopsis 單元概要 This course promotes student abilities to read and tell stories in Chinese to young non-Chinese-speaking (NCS) children. Through engaging in this way, student understanding of story reading and story-telling for NCS children will be enhanced, as will their understanding of NCS communities in Hong Kong. Student involvement in story reading and story-telling activities with young children will deepen students’ social-cultural engagement with a range of ethnic groups and facilitate critical reflection on the challenges NCS children have for speaking and becoming literate in Chinese.
