This course explores and studies the principles, research evidence, and impactful practices of innovation within educational contexts and beyond. Through this course, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to address evolving challenges and opportunities in education by fostering creativity, supporting entrepreneurial thinking, and implementing evidence-based change management strategies. Using an evidence-based and data-driven approach, the course focuses on designing and implementing innovative solutions that drive sustainable improvement in teaching, learning, and educational management. Students will explore principles, theories, and philosophies of innovation, organisational change, and leadership, with a particular emphasis on the role of research-based evidence in shaping impactful educational practices. Through the analysis of case studies, application of innovation frameworks, and critical reflection on cultural contexts—especially within East Asia—students will gain insights into the factors that enable or hinder successful change. After completing this course, students will learn how to design and propose innovative, evidence-based strategies that promote growth and transformation in education-related organisations.
