While there are various forms to promote school improvement, quality assurance is always one of the keys to success. Historically, publicly-funded schools were monitored closely by a top down approach. Since 2003, the new SDA framework advocated by the EDB has tried to build a new culture of accountability by which school self-evaluation and transparency are highly emphasized in school sectors. With the assistance of external reviews, schools are hoped to be empowered with self-enhancing and improving capabilities. Deputy heads, together with the heads, are at the fore-front of leading such culture. In this course, the participants will be exposed to an updated trend in School development and accountability (SDA) framework, supplemented with practical skills needed to successfully realize school plans with an aim to ultimately leaded to sustainable school development.
