Module Synopsis
單元概要
The Capstone Project (I) is a user experience design (UXD) project plan structured in Semester 2, Year 3 of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Executive Management [BSc(EM)] Programme. The course consists 3 major parts, that is: Part A Basic Research Elements and Methods for Capstone Project Part B Specific Methods and Ethical Considerations in Preparation for UXD Part C Writing an UXD plan To realize the improvement orientation to support organizational learning, vision, growth and development of BSc(EM), students will apply the core skills and knowledge they have acquired to review an existing administration or programme in a particular educational or non-profit organization, in order to make an improvement plan from the perspective of users– starting from researching user’s experiences. The Capstone Project (I) requires students to write a proposal by identifying problem of an organisational administration or a programme in the real world by researching user experiences, and designing an alternative “way of doing” to improve user experience. To achieve the above, students need to explore educational and non-profit organizations as distinct entities, and distinguish contexts specific to the administration and management of the organizations in the process of implementing administrational procedures or a programme. In short, the Capstone Project (I) is a UXD project designed to play a role in executive management/programme development and management by: a) investigate the users’ experience of an existing practice within an organisational context b) identify area of improvement and modify the project/administration (or related environment) design in order to offer better experience for users c) develop a time-line for project implementation and execute the modified plan to improve users’ experiences d) document the result, evaluate the degree of improvement in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, enjoyment, ethics and social values etc Various forms of partnership in the project such as working together with the internship agency, collaborating with local or international educational or non-profit organization are encouraged whenever feasible.
