SCHOOL GOVERNANCE FOR TEACHERS 教師參與學校管治
Module Synopsis
單元概要
School governance for teachers refers to how a school operates as a whole and what teachers can do to become school leaders and useful contributors to the overall school life. This course provides students with essential knowledge of school governance so that they can be active change agents in schools. In Hong Kong and many countries, schools are largely or wholly a responsibility of the government, which in turn influence their priorities and policies to fulfil the educational purposes. This course provides opportunities for students to identify contextual factors that shape school governance structure and examine school management policies as well as their underlying beliefs of education. With reference to different approaches and theories of organization, collaboration, school improvement and teacher leadership, students are expected to interrogate the current school governance system in Hong Kong and explore effective school governance systems that can support their daily professional practice.
