Module Code 單元編號 ECE0192 Module Title 單元名稱 DRAMA EDUCATION FOR THE EARLY YEARS Module Synopsis 單元概要 This course helps students to develop a wide range of knowledge, skills and theories related to the teaching and learning of drama education in early childhood education. As drama is both an art form and a pedagogy, apart from theories of drama/theatre education, literature on children’s play, story, picture book, creativity and so on will be introduced. Students will also be exposed to a great variety of theatre games, drama conventions and related teaching strategies. The course will also discuss some of the critical constraints and benefits of using drama education in the local kindergartens. After finishing the course, students are capable to integrate drama education into the early childhood curriculum and instruction. To promote the integration of theory and practice, practical workshop of theatre game and drama education will be adopted as one of the teaching approaches.
