Module Code 單元編號 CSL1006 Module Title 單元名稱 DEVELOPING LEADERSHIP THROUGH SERVICE LEARNING Module Synopsis 單元概要 This course provides a platform for students to integrate the knowledge of leadership and community engagement through a service-learning process. Students are expected to broaden their horizons on the understanding of various leadership theories. Topics will include leadership and organizational culture, leadership traits and styles, situational leadership, the leader-member exchange theory, social leadership, distributed leadership, etc. Besides, students have opportunities to gain hands-on leadership experience through organizing and participating in service activities that respond to social issues. Service recipients may include but not be limited to the following: mentally and physically handicapped, marginal youth, senior citizens, deprived students, ethnic minority children. Students may also be immersed in a social organization for a period of time to help the organization extend their service and meet the genuine needs of the community.
