Programme on Planning Life Education in Primary/ Secondary Schools 2018/19

The Centre was commissioned by the Education Bureau (EDB) to run the Programme on Planning Life Education in Primary Schools in the year 2010-2011, 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. The Centre has also been commissioned to run the Programme on Planning Life Education in Secondary Schools in the year 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. Our initiation includes professional development workshops for teachers, visits to pioneer local schools with exemplary life education programmes, study tours to Taiwan, sharing sessions and school support. The Thematic Seminar for Secondary School Teachers on Life Planning Education and Career Guidance Services for Students on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Related Disciplines provides a well-informed platform that gathers the experience of successful school cases for Career Guidance Masters/Mistresses and subject teachers in integrating Life and Career Planning Education with STEM education.

The Thematic Seminar for Secondary School Teachers on Life Planning Education and Career Guidance Services for Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) sets up a diverse and up-to-date seminar series that gathers the first-hand experience of successful school cases for Career Guidance Masters/Mistresses and subject teachers in integrating and permeating Life and Career Planning Education in catering the needs of students with Special Educational Needs.

About the Event:

The Seminar, organized by Ming Pao Education Publications Limited and co-organized by the Centre for Religious and Spirituality Education, seeks to address often untouched issues that concern the overall life condition of students and Life Education in general. Apart from professional sharings from two distinguished speakers, the seminar provides an open platform for educators to express their own views on unspoken issues that are otherwise unspoken due to social customs and concerns.

 

Professional Development Programme in Hong Kong Life Education

The program aims to facilitate teachers to understand the ideas and practices of Life Education (LE), including experiences in developing relevant concepts and professional trainings for teachers in LE in the neighboring regions as well as Hong Kong, so that the teachers could be equipped to effectively foster and implement LE in schools, and eventually to enhance the children and teenager’s resilience to cope with various challenges with different life skills.

eGive: A Life Education Programme

The Centre for Religious and Spirituality Education of the Education University of Hong Kong is dedicated to the popularization of Life Education since its establishment in 2006. From 2016/17 onwards, eGive For You Charity Foundation has shown its support to the Centre’s endeavours through the sponsoring of the project eGive: A Life Education Programme. The spirit of the project responds to recent tragic cases of student suicide as well as the depressing social circumstances. The project wishes to inject positivity as well as reignite hope within the lives of the students by reestablishing positive values, encouraging and allowing students to face adversities in a positive manner. The product of the project is divided into 3 main sections and 24 sub-units covering students emotional management, interpersonal relationship, and values education. (Click here to learn more)


Global Ethics and Globalization

In the past decade, globalization has emerged as one of the most prominent topics globally. The concept, and the gradual realization of the process of globalization both as a concrete economic as well as cultural phenomenon have brought about substantal alteration to the way an entire generation of human sees the world. By incorporating prominent issues under the umbrella of globalization into the local secondary curriculum, the project seeks to provide experiential opportunities beyond the confinement of classroom and thus creating an interactive learning environment for students.
