Launched in August 2011, the World Youth Buddhist Society (WYBS) aims to establish an open and interactive platform for the communication between the Buddhist community and the younger generation. WYBS launched the first annual conference in Larung Gar Buddhist Academy and the annual conferences thereafter are held either in Hong Kong or Thailand.

 

The Second Annual Conference of The World Youth Buddhist Society

Abstract: The 2nd World Youth Forum and Summer Camp on Buddhist Studies, with “Buddhism and Science”, “Buddhism and Spiritual Education”, and “Understanding Tibetan Buddhism” as Main Themes, is co-organized by our Centre, World youth Buddhist Society, Centre for the Study of Humanistic Buddhism and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Buddhism Studies Group. It is attended by scholars, experts, practitioners alike from the UK, America, Europe, Singapore, Mainland, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. 


The Third Annual Conference of The World Youth Buddhist Society

Abstract: The 3rd World Youth Forum and Summer Camp on Buddhist Studies, with “Sustainable Development” as the Main Theme, is co-organized by our Centre, World youth Buddhist Society, Centre for the Study of Humanistic Buddhism and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Buddhism Studies Group. It is attended by over 600 participants who are young scholars or university teachers and students from the Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and overseas. 


The Fourth Annual Conference of The World Youth Buddhist Society

Date: 1 August 2014 - 5 August 2014

Abstract: The Fourth Annual Conference of WYBS will be held in Hong Kong on 1-5 August 2014. The theme of this conference is Social Responsibilities, with discussions featuring three aspects of Environmental Protection, Ethics, and Public Welfare. Over 620 scholars, professors and students from the University of Oxford, Boston University, University of Virginia, University of Sydney, National University of Singapore, University of Hong Kong and Beijing University etc. from about 20 countries and regions shall gather together for this conference and experience the spiritual-feast.
