Welcome to CLLRD

The Centre for Lifelong Learning Research and Development (CLLRD) is a research centre in the Faculty of Education and Human Development in the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). It is part of the EdUHK’s commitment to quality research and the education plus initiative.

CLLRD was created in response to the growing diversity of education and training that takes place throughout the whole of people’s lives. The Centre sees its role as facilitating and conducting research in the Asia Pacific region.

Priority areas for research and development in the CLLRD include education for development, life and work skills, education for minority and marginalised groups and elderly education.

The Centre comprises four units:

·         the EdUHK Elder Academy

·         the Technical and Vocation Education (TVET) Research Unit

·         the International Education Research Unit, and

·         the Philosophy in Education Research Unit.

The Centre also houses the prestigious UNESCO Chair in Technical and Vocational Education and Lifelong Learning.

The Centre works closely with researchers, policy makers and practitioners to strengthen and upgrade Lifelong Learning Research and Development, with the goal of promoting good and innovative practices.
