Putonghua Enhancement Programme

Programme Objectives

To provide Putonghua training according to the language policy of the University, with the hope of assisting local undergraduates to meet the Putonghua exit requirements.

To enhance the Putonghua level of the part-time in-service ECE students so as to meet job needs.

To promote the understanding of Chinese culture of non-Chinese-speaking students through using Putonghua to learn Chinese

To cultivate students’ lifelong learning skills of Putonghua

 

Programme Features​

To address the needs of different types of students by providing suitable Putonghua enhancement courses.

To adopt a variety of teaching methods, and, in addition to classroom face-to-face teaching, to provide all sorts of beyond-classroom learning support, such as providing Putonghua test training workshops, Putonghua clinics/consultations and online learning platforms.

 

Course Assessment

Every course has a pre-test (not included in the final scores) and a final test, and there will be classroom and after-school practices. The total score of 100 points for each subject will be shown in grades on students' transcripts.

 

The attendance rate should not be less than 80%.
