Synopsis
This course aims to develop academic communication skills which are fundamental at tertiary level. Through the analysis of academic readings on ECE topics, students will discover the characteristics and conventions used by scholars in the field, acquire topical and functional academic vocabulary, and compose an argumentative essay by integrating academic sources. In addition, the course is designed to encourage creativity and confidence with English speaking through developing and delivering a group narrative. Throughout the course, time will be made available for evaluation, comment and language analysis.
