香港校長研討會由香港教育學院、香港津貼中學議會及津貼小學議會合辦,將於未來每兩年舉辦一次。為各校校長及副校長提供一個獨特及重要的專業交流場所。研討會將會針對校長們最關心的議題,進行互相交流及經驗分享,進而表達意見。一般的學術會議都會以學者為中心,而本研討會則以校長及副校長們為重心,輔以學者的專業意見。本研討會也將成為校長專業持續發展的其中一個模式。

The Principals' Conference is jointly organized
by the Hong Kong Institute
of Education, the Hong Kong Subsidized Secondary Schools
Council and the Subsidized Primary Schools Council. The
one-day event will be held every 2 years starting from 2004
onwards. Amid the trend of rapid educational reforms, the
Conference provides a unique and distinguished opportunity
for principals and deputies to focus on their issues of
concern, exchange ideas and experiences, and voice out their
perspectives. Unlike most conferences where academics dominated
most of the presentation, the principals and deputies will
play the key role in articulating their own views, with
professional supports from academics. It will also serve
as another form of continuous professional development for
school principals.

theme of the 2004 conference is "Breaking New Ground:
Steering and Strategies". There are 3 sub-themes:
Improving

Enhancing
Learning Motivation
Increasing School Cost-Effectiveness

統籌委員會之下將組成三個工作小組,分別協調各相關之演講、報告及討論。每個工作小組的成員均包括中、小學校長以及學者。 |

Three
sub-groups are formed under the Programme Committee to address
the sub-themes respectively. Each sub-group will comprise
both secondary and primary school principals as well as
academics.

校長會議將會享有盛名的學者及教育實踐者作主題演講;而在工作坊/研討會部分,各教育同工將會分享他們的經驗及意見,出色的學校及實踐者都會被邀作分享。
而政策研討則會是整項活動的高潮。主辦者將會把各重要議題集中及提出建議,並邀請教育決策當局及其他教育學者作回應,與各校長討論。
為了令各與會者輕鬆地進一步交流,會議後設有晚宴。而部分演講、文章及資料將會編印成書。

Both
renowned scholars and practitioners will be invited to
deliver
keynote speeches. In the workshops/seminars, presenters
will give reflective accounts of their own practices
and insights.
Exemplars or best practices will be identified and invited
to share in the conference. The policy forum is the highlight
of the event. The organizers will summarize the issues
concerned
and put forward recommendations in the form of a statement.
Policy-makers and other educators will be invited to
discuss
these issues in the forum.
A
dinner banquet will follow so as to provide the participants
a time for refreshing and free social interaction. Selected
speeches, papers and materials will be published afterward.
