Dr. Stephen Yip Yam Wing conducted a Professional Inquiry Workshop entitled “Quality Life-wide Learning Experience” for the teachers of North Point Methodist Primary School on 13 May 2022. In the workshop, Dr. Yip introduced the basic theories of Life-wide Learning, its development process in Hong Kong, and the latest development of Life-wide Learning to the teachers. He had shared an authentic case showing how a primary school had applied Life-wide Learning to facilitate sustainable development education so as to deepen the teachers’ understanding of integrating Life-wide Learning into the curriculum and inter-disciplinary practice as well as their mastery of different modes of implementing Life-wide Learning in school. Through the “Storytelling Approach or Story Whoosh@, Dr. Yip explained that Life-wide Learning attaches great importance to Multi-sensory Learning, and emphasized the significance of making connections with the past experiences when transmitting knowledge, promoting sharing and exchanges, and facilitating “Cooperative Learning” between students and teachers. Through the process of reflection, students could engage in Life-wide Learning experiences, thereby enjoying the joy of experiential learning.
