General Requirements (Year 2 Entry - SP DMAT)
Graduates of the Diploma in Music and Audio Technology Programme [DMAT] offered by the Singapore Polytechnic [SP] are invited to apply for year 2 entry to the Three-Year Full-time Bachelor of Music in Education (Contemporary Music and Performance Pedagogy) Programme [BME], The Hong Kong Institute of Education [HKIEd].
DMAT graduates, if offered admission to BME Year 2, will be granted exemption of 10 designated courses in the BME curriculum (equivalent to one year of programme credits). Students will normally spend two years to complete the entire
BME programme which covers the domains of Core music Studies, Contemporary Music, Performance Pedagogy, General Education Studies, Honours Project and Internship.
To apply for the Advanced Year Entry to BME Programme, you must
- be graduates of the DMAT Programme offered by Singapore Polytechnic
- attain a minimum cumulative GPA > 3.0* at the time of graduation
- fulfill the music requirements
- A high level of performance ability in one instrument (or voice)
- Satisfactory performance in the music subject test [written test (theory/aural); practical test; and interview]
- fulfill the English Language Requirement
* If applicants do not meet the minimum GPA requirement will be considered for year 1 entry
Your Action
- Complete the application form and upload relevant information (e.g. music certificates, academic transcripts, letter applying for exemption of the Institute’s Chinese Language Requirement, etc.) via the Online Application System at http://www.ied.edu.hk/acadprog/online/ by the application deadline.
- Record your performance (two music pieces of different styles, each piece should last for about 10 minutes) and send the disc to the following address:
