Practicum Benefits

We believe that the Practicum is rewarding for both the participating Practicum Agencies and the Practicum Students.

The participating Practicum Agencies (Special schools and NGOs for people with special needs), can take the opportunities to

  • Help groom the young professionals to be creative leaders of tomorrow and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the demand for staff in the field of special education by providing them with valuable experience.
  • Obtain fresh ideas from the Practicum Students-- The young minds are enthusiastic, hungry to gain experience and good at questioning processes. They can bring energy and offer new perspectives and feedback to the NGOs and Special schools.
  • Promote a good image of the NGOs and Special schools and advocate Inclusive education and Special education – Practicum provides a great way to meet social responsibility by engaging with young people. The Practicum Students are ‘living advertisement’ on the campus and in the social milieu.
  • Gauge the talents of and identify potential quality employees through observing the Practicum Students at work.

The Practicum Students will be provided on-the-job learning opportunities to

  • Convert academic knowledge into practice under mentorship in a real work setting.
  • Audit and refine their skills, understand their own strengths and weaknesses in the workplace.
  • Gain work experience and transferable skills for personal growth and career development.
