香港教育大學 2024-2025 年報 5 Chairman’s Foreword 校董會主席前言 It was with great enthusiasm that we unveiled our Strategic Plan 20252031, a product of extensive collaboration among our Council Members, senior management, academic and administrative colleagues, as well as various stakeholders. This plan positions EdUHK to address the challenges of the next six years by equipping our students, focusing our research efforts, and supporting our community. We find ourselves in a time of significant transformation, characterised by rapid technological advancements and evolving pedagogies. There is therefore a need for future-ready teachers and professionals who are adaptable to change, and can address the pressing demands of society, in terms of ethics, digital competency, social inclusion and awareness of national identity. The University has already made significant strides to ensure that our graduates are well-equipped for the future challenges. We have launched an array of programmes and courses at both the undergraduate and master’s levels, ensuring that all Bachelor of Education students can pursue double degree programmes in relevant disciplines. Our collaborations with institutions across the Greater Bay Area, Chinese Mainland, Belt and Road countries, and beyond provide our students and academics with invaluable experiences and perspectives, as well as the opportunity to share and enhance research and expertise. Exciting times lie ahead, as we aim to enhance EdUHK’s reputation as a leading university in the Asia-Pacific region, and further strengthen our networks locally, nationally and internationally. I look forward to the opening of the new facilities, which will serve to offer students and scholars greater capacity and technology. Furthermore, we are dedicated to assisting schools and society in adapting to change. Promoting sustainability among our students and within the community is paramount as we continue to play a significant role in establishing Hong Kong as an education hub and in supporting the country’s development. In closing, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to our outgoing Council Members, Ms Louise So Yuen-yi and Ms Gemma Cunanan Sitchon for their service, and welcome our new Council Members, Professor Kevin Chan Ka-shing, Dr Sarah Lee Hoi-man, Dr Tom Fong Wing-ho, Dr Verena Lau Wing-yin and Miss Choy Wing-yan. Together, we will continue to guide EdUHK toward a future filled with promise and opportunity.
