47 Towards an Inclusive and Sustainable Community In a heart-warming exercise, EdUHK hosted a one-day student experiential programme for over 30 elders in the community, who relived memories of their youth through a campus tour, innovative workshops, and a special graduation ceremony. We also continued to support light volleyball – a sport designed to be accessible to individuals with varying levels of agility. Funding was provided for local classes, and we co-organised competitions in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Nanchang, culminating in a grand final held in Hong Kong. Following these events, local partnering elderly and community centres have continued to run light volleyball classes. We collaborated with the Sports Association for Older Adults in Hong Kong, China, to hold a competition in the Chinese Mainland, and organised the first-ever international competition featuring senior teams from Australia, Japan, and Malaysia. The exciting matches proved to be an excellent occasion for elders to engage in sport and socialise. EdUHK students give a hands-on STEM session through using a drone with the elderly Participants in the ‘EdUHK One-Day Student Experiential Programme 2025 for Elders’ graduate 「教大一日大學生體驗計劃」的參加者順利畢業 Light volleyball is both fun and promotes teamwork.
