45 Towards an Inclusive and Sustainable Community Education for All Our inquiry-based, student-centred learning initiatives, such as JC CoolScience (a four-and-a-half-year project launched in 2024), funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, empower over 200 primary schools to deliver environmentally conscious and inquiry-driven science education. These programmes encourage responsible exploration of ecological issues, fostering a generation of learners committed to sustainability. Additionally, the Centre for Child and Family Science organised the Conference on Learning and Teaching for Non-Chinese Speaking Children in May 2025, emphasising culturally responsive, inclusive education that respects diversity and promotes social cohesion, which are key pillars of sustainable development. Community Engagement and Empowerment for a Resilient Society By sharing our expertise and fostering collaborative efforts across diverse sectors, EdUHK remains committed to advancing inclusive education, promoting community well-being, and extending the joy and fulfilment of learning to all members of society. Our Artificial Intelligence Literacy Programme demonstrates how we leverage our expertise for the community’s benefit. Since 2020, the project has supported over 1,200 university and senior secondary students. In the reporting year, we launched the third phase to include primary and secondary teachers, parents, and staff in small and medium-sized enterprises, with an aim to endow the wider public with vital AI skills to enhance learning, teaching, and workplace productivity. Extended until June 2026, the programme underscores our ongoing commitment to preparing a future-ready society through knowledge sharing.
