香港教育大學 2024-2025 年報 43 Towards an Inclusive and Sustainable Community 邁向共融與可持續的社群 Empowering SEN Students through Inclusive Partnerships Our ongoing Project Aspire highlights our pledge to always be the strength and stay of students with special needs. We organised a symposium in April 2025 to assist educators and organisations in helping students with autism spectrum disorder adapt to and thrive in mainstream schools. The 200-strong conference was attended by representatives from education sector, government, social welfare service organisations, and parent communities. Our Institute of Special Needs and Inclusive Education extended its reach by sharing best practices across Macao SAR, Greater Bay Area cities, and Belt and Road countries such as Brunei and Kazakhstan, fostering international collaboration in inclusive and sustainable education. EdUHK also collaborated with SDU University, Kazakhstan and Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia to hold a Belt & Road Conference on special education. Scholars, educators, entrepreneurs, and industrial experts from across Hong Kong SAR, the Chinese Mainland, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia shared their latest findings on advancing education and diversity learning and explored the integration of AI and educational technology in special education. Through partnerships with other universities and funding from The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) Charities Trust, we contributed to initiatives like the Jockey Club Diversity at Schools Project, providing professional training, school visits, and reviews to help schools effectively manage diverse learning needs. We also play a key role in Project RISE, supporting around 40% of local primary schools in implementing strategies for students with English learning difficulties.
