The Education University of Hong Kong Annual Report 2024-2025 42 Towards an Inclusive and Sustainable Community Thought Leadership and Commitment to Sustainable Quality Education As a leader in education, EdUHK is committed to empowering schools through a broad spectrum of professional initiatives that enhance learning and teaching, emphasising sustainability and environmental consciousness. Our thought leadership has significantly shaped the future of primary science education in Hong Kong. In partnership with the Education Bureau (EDB), we led initiatives aligned with the 2025-2026 primary science curriculum, integrating sustainability concepts to foster environmental awareness among young learners. Our consultancy project, ‘Professional Teacher Training on Curriculum Leadership in Primary Science', included workshops designed to cultivate leadership capacity in sustainable science education. Supported by the EDB’s Quality Education Fund, our innovative STEM and STEAM modules promote environmentally responsible practices, critical thinking and innovation. Furthermore, we co-organised the 27th Primary STEAM Project Exhibition, themed ‘Climate Change on Air Quality and Soil’, in collaboration with the EDB and Hong Kong Science Museum, to raise awareness of environmental issues and inspire students’ engagement with sustainability challenges.
