香港教育大學 2023-2024 年報 9 President’s Overview 校長的話 It is also essential that graduates are cognisant of their own physical and mental wellbeing and that of others. EdUHK promotes physical education at all levels, from community sport to elite athletes. This year we organised competitions and courses for children with special educational needs and for the elderly, such as the Light Volleyball for Older Adults competitions in Hong Kong SAR, Shenzhen and Nanchang. We also opened up dual pathways to a wider range of elite athletes so that they may pursue their studies while furthering their sporting careers. Our elite athlete students enjoyed success at the 2023 Asian Games and Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, as well as the Paris 2024 Olympics. EdUHK also nurtures social skills, including volunteering schemes, such as the Student-led Community Service Project, which encourages students to design and conduct self-initiated projects to develop leadership capacity and project management capability while contributing to the community. Additionally, our scholars investigate social issues, such as a study on the positive effect mindfulness intervention and behavioural activation had on elderly people living alone during the COVID-19 pandemic. To further develop aesthetics education, the University has established the Centre for Classical Chinese Education and the Xiqu and Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre. In terms of creative and cultural arts, four of our students won the Merit Award in the Disney Imaginations Hong Kong Design Competition 2024, and a project to develop personalised and cost-effective music learning solutions for students by using AI, won a Gold Award in the 2024 Hong Kong Techathon+ competition. Celebration and thanks EdUHK has experienced a year of significant achievement and celebration. I thank our colleagues, students, and the EdUHK family for their crucial contributions. Together, we can aspire to even greater accomplishments beyond our 30th anniversary, reaching new heights for the benefit of the EdUHK community, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and our country. Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, JP President 教大亦培養畢業生關注自身及他人的身心健康,致力於 在各社會層面推動體育教育,從社區運動到精英運動員 的培訓均有所涵蓋。年內,我們針對特殊教育需求學生 及長者推出了相關的課程與比賽,包括在香港特區、深 圳和南昌舉行了長者輕排球比賽。我們亦為更多精英運 動員提供雙軌發展的途徑,讓他們能夠在學業與運動生 涯之間取得平衡。多位教大的精英運動員更在二零二三 年杭州亞運會及亞洲殘疾人運動會,以及二零二四巴黎 奧運會上取得佳績。 社交能力亦是教大全人教育的重要一環。我們推出多項 志願服務項目,如「學生社會服務啟導計劃」,鼓勵學 生自主構思和實踐社區服務項目,從而提升他們領導力 和項目管理能力,同時回饋社會。此外,教大的學者亦 積極關注社會議題,例如其中一項關於靜觀介入和積極 行為介入的研究題示,這些研究在新冠疫情期間為獨居 長者帶來積極影響。 為進一步推動美育教育,教大成立了國學中心及戲曲與 非遺傳承中心。在創意和文化藝術領域,教大四位學生 於二零二四年「迪士尼幻想工程香港挑戰賽」榮獲優異 獎;我們一項應用人工智能技術,為學生提供高效且節 約成本的音樂學習方案亦於二零二四年的「Hong Kong Techathon+」比賽中榮獲冠軍。 誌慶與致謝 過去的一年是教大充滿周年歡慶和碩果纍纍的一年。我 由衷感謝每一位同仁、學生及教大大家庭的每一位成 員,為大學發展所作出的不懈努力。我深信,在各方的 攜手合作下,教大定能在三十周年後繼往開來,為教 大、香港特別行政區及國家再創高峰,創造更多卓越成 就。 李子建教授,JP 校長
