The Education University of Hong Kong Annual Report 2023-2024 4 Chairman’s Foreword The reporting year was one of great accomplishment and development. I am grateful to the senior management team and the entire University community for their continued dedication and support. In line with the 2016-2025 Strategic Plan, EdUHK continued to nurture future educators and professionals, while further building on its reputation for research and knowledge transfer. Celebrating a century-old heritage The year saw a range of events celebrating the University’s 30th anniversary as well as the century-old education heritage from which EdUHK emerged. These deep roots define who we are today, with a strong focus on nurturing our graduates’ positive values, professional traditions and culture, guiding them through their professional career and passing on to future generations. Our 30th anniversary celebrations began in November 2023, on the occasion of the installation ceremony for President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, and culminating in the gala dinner in November 2024. All events highlighted the University’s enduring legacy while setting the stage for its bright and ambitious future. Embracing interdisciplinary collaboration for the future I am particularly pleased with the University’s strides towards adopting an interdisciplinary approach. The establishment of two new Academies represents a significant step in fostering collaboration across disciplines, addressing the evolving demands of the future economy, and nurturing innovation in advanced sectors.
