The Education University of Hong Kong Annual Report 2023-2024 22 Furthermore, in line with the Hong Kong SAR Government’s strategy of promoting vocational and professional education and training as a parallel pathway to conventional academic education, the University signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Alliance for Education Accreditation, to explore professional accreditation mechanisms and curriculum development. With a view to enhancing Hong Kong’s reputation as a global education hub, EdUHK reached out to other institutions and governments around the world. This included a visit to Kazakhstan to discuss initiatives such as a platform to enhance the professional capacity of teachers in higher education and promoting educational research. Similarly, in talks with education ministries and universities in Brunei Darussalam and the Philippines, delegates from EdUHK discussed bilateral cooperation in education and further educational development opportunities in Southeast Asia. 此外,為響應香港特區政府提出的推廣職業專才教育與 傳統學術教育雙軌並行的舉措,教大與國際教育認證聯 盟簽訂了合作協議,共同探討專業認證機制和課程發 展。 為提升香港作為全球教育樞紐的聲譽,教大同時積極與 世界各地的院校及政府建立聯繫。當中包括訪問哈薩克 斯坦,商討如何建立平台以提升高等教育教師的專業能 力及推動教育研究。教大代表團亦與汶萊及菲律賓教育 部及大學進行會談,討論雙邊教育合作及東南亞地區教 育發展機遇。 The University also made strides to add to students’ and academics’ opportunities for exchanges and collaboration by establishing new contacts, such as with the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University in Canada. The International Outreach Study Programme also resumed, following a hiatus due to the pandemic, with postgraduate students attending various universities in Australia and Canada, to take part in seminars and workshops, and interact with scholars, researchers and peers from different countries.
