The Education University of Hong Kong Annual Report 2023-2024 14 Paving a dual pathway Meanwhile, we continue to provide dual career pathways, in the form of Bachelor of Education with Bachelor of Arts double degree programmes, and providing elite athletes with the opportunity to benefit from a university education while pursuing a career in sport. EdUHK was the first UGC-funded institution to sign a collaborative agreement with the Hong Kong Sports Institute, providing elite athletes with a flexible admissions mechanism. At the 2023 Asian Games and Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, 50 of the athletes who represented Hong Kong were EdUHK undergraduates or graduates. Our students won Hong Kong’s first ever gold medal in the men’s rowing pairs at the Asian Games and won two silver and six bronze medals in various sports. To encourage elite athletes to pursue excellence in both their athletic performance and academic studies, EdUHK and Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund presented scholarships to a new batch of outstanding EdUHK elite athletes specialising in sports including woodball, cycling, shuttlecock and tennis, to support them financially in their studies. 支援雙軌發展 與此同時，教大持續致力於為同學提供雙軌發展機會， 除了開辦教育學士 — 文學士雙學位課程，亦讓精英運 動員實現大學學業與運動事業的平衡發展。教大是首間 與香港體育學院簽訂合作備忘錄的教資會院校，為精英 運動員提供彈性的入學機制。在二零二三年的杭州亞運 會及亞洲殘疾人運動會，共有五十名代表香港參賽的運 動員皆為教大本科生或畢業生。教大的學生更在亞運會 男子雙人單槳無舵艇項目中贏得香港歷史上首面金牌， 並在多個運動項目中奪得兩銀六銅的佳績。為鼓勵精英 運動員在運動和學術上均追求卓越，本校與日清食品 （香港）慈善基金合作，向新一批有傑出表現的教大精英 運動員頒發獎學金，資助他們的學業。這批精英運動員 所從事的項目包括木球、單車、足毽和網球。
