The Education University of Hong Kong Annual Report 2023-2024 12 As for early-career academics, we welcomed six EdUHK-nominated candidates under the Research Grant Council’s (RGC) prestigious PhD Fellowship Scheme, and three candidates from Ethiopia, Indonesia and Myanmar under the HKSAR Government’s Belt and Road Scholarship for research postgraduate studies, in the reporting year. Teachers’ professional ethics and values The University proactively responded to the launch of the Guidelines on Teachers’ Professional Conduct and the Guiding Framework for Primary and Secondary Teacher Education Programmes (BEd) by the Education Bureau, and conducted a rigorous curriculum review to enrich its teacher education programmes. The Academic Board approved in September 2023 that the Exit Requirements for Teachers’ Professional Conduct and Ethics be implemented in phases, starting from the 2024-25 cohort of the full-time BEd and Co-terminal Double Degree (DD) programmes. A pathway spanning from Year 1 to Year 5 has been meticulously designed to enable students to achieve the Exit Requirements in three components: (i) fulfilling the assessment requirements of the Field Experience; (ii) satisfactory completion of two required courses related to Teachers’ Professional Conduct and Ethics; and (iii) fulfilment of relevant co-curricular requirement. To enhance quality in education and respond to societal demand, the University regularly carries out programme reviews and develops new specialisations, as well as major and minor courses. Following such a review, EdUHK launched a number of new courses this academic year, including a new Experiential Learning Course on Entrepreneurship and Innovation, as well as two Positive and Values Education (PAVE) courses that incorporate elements of national security education. 有關早期學術人員,本報告年度我們迎來了六名由教大 提名並獲研究資助局博士研究生獎學金計劃支持的候選 人,另有三名分別來自埃塞俄比亞、印尼及緬甸的候選 人,他們通過香港特區政府「一帶一路獎學金」赴我校 修讀研究生課程。 教師專業道德與價值觀 教大積極響應教育局制訂的《教師專業操守指引》及《中 小學教師培訓課程指導框架》(學士課程),對教師教育 課程進行了全面檢討,以進一步提升課程內容的深度與 廣度。教大教務委員會於二零二三年九月通過「教師專 業操守與道德要求」,並將於二零二四至二五學年起, 分階段在全日制教育學士課程及雙學位課程中推行。針 對此項要求,教大設計了一套從一年級至五年級的學習 路徑,確保學生在以下三方面達到有關要求:(一)通過 學校體驗評估;(二)完成與教師專業操守與道德相關的 必修科目,並取得及格成績;及(三)達到相關聯課要 求。 為提升教育質素及回應社會需要,教大定期進行課程評 估,並陸續開辦新學科,以及主修和副修課程。教大本 學年經評估後推出多門新課程,其中包括全新的創業與 創新經驗學習課程,以及兩門加入國家安全教育元素的 正向教育與價值教育課程。
