President’s Overview 校長的話 香港教育大學 2021-2022 年報 7 EdUHK is committed to promoting computational thinking education through different school projects and curriculum development 透過不同的學校項目及課程發展,教大積極推動運算思維教育 academic vibrancy has led to the launch of an array of programmes in different disciplines, such as AI literacy, sports science and coaching, and environmental sustainability. Our overall research capacity has also seen significant growth, in terms of funding, quality of output and research impact. We have expanded the scope of research to cover new areas, including big data analytics, psychology and neuroscience, as well as earth and physical sciences. We will continue to strengthen our multidisciplinary capacity, develop new strategic areas, and improve teaching and research facilities, in line with the Education-plus approach. Core mission As the largest provider of future educators and social leaders, the University has remained steadfast to its unique mission in teacher education, especially through ongoing enhancements to the quality of learning and teaching. I am pleased with the implementation of the new common core curriculum and graduate attributes for all undergraduate students, who are provided with more opportunities to unleash their potential, enrich their knowledge, and grow professionally. Of equal importance is their ethical responsibility to the wider community. This means that more emphasis is placed on positive values, teaching ethics and commitment to their profession. Our students are also equipped with the necessary Information and Communications Technology competence, in addition to an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset.
