Research and Knowledge Transfer 研究與知識轉移 香港教育大學 2021-2022 年報 25 Intellectual property and entrepreneurship Apart from creating knowledge, the University also attaches great importance to knowledge transfer through the promotion of intellectual property and entrepreneurship. Since the establishment of the Education And Social Entrepreneurs Fund (EASE Fund) in 2018, the University has provided funding of over HK$8.5 million for 20 startup teams through competitions. A total of 97 teams have received professional guidance, business consultation and training throughout the years. During the year, the scheme received matching funds from the Youth Development Fund under the Home Affairs Bureau. With additional funding from the government, each eligible team received a grant of HK$600,000 over two years to start a business in the Greater Bay Area. We have also made strides in creating intellectual properties, through licensing covering education technology solutions, educational toys, healthcare technologies and pedagogical innovations. In support of research-based spin-offs and start-ups, the EdUHK Centre for Entrepreneurship and Research will be set up in Hong Kong Science Park in late 2022.
