Resident’s Perception on Air Pollution in Hong Kong
The HKSAR Government released a document entitled 「A Clean Air Plan for Hong Kong」 which outlined a plan to tackle the local air pollution issue in March 2013. So far no study has been conducted to evaluate the public’s perception regarding this environmental risk. A research team at The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) responded to this research gap.
The research team members (Dr. Yu Kar-ming with the Department of Asian and Policy Studies (APS), Dr. Alice Chow Sin-yin and Dr. Lewis Cheung Ting-on both with the Department of Social Sciences (SSC) and Dr. Lincoln Fok with the Department of Science and Environmental Studies (SES)) interviewed Hong Kong residents in order to understand their perception on air pollution in Hong Kong and its impact on their health and quality of life.
