Prof. Darryl Jarvis Collaborates with Universities in Mandalay, Myanmar
Prof. Darryl Jarvis, Head of Department and Professor with the Department of Asian and Policy Studies (APS) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) was invited by the University of Mandalay and Yadanbon University, Mandalay, Myanmar to share his views on public policy in the Asia Pacific region at the yearly Social Science Summer Lecture Series. This year’s programme focused on public policy, political economy, conflict resolution, diplomacy and statecraft, Southeast Asia and Methodology. Academics from EdUHK, Monash University (Malaysia), the Hiroshima Peace Institute (Japan), the International University of Japan, Thammasat University (Thailand) and the Yusof Ishak Institute (Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Singapore) provided lectures in the knowledge transfer programme.
The Social Science Summer Lecture Series (2017) ran from 2 May to 3 June 2017 and was hosted by the University of Mandalay and Yadanbon University, Mandalay, Myanmar.
The Social Science Summer Lecture Series is funded by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Foundation, Germany. The aim of the Foundation is to provide capacity training of Burmese academics across a range of social science disciplines.
